ghost attack

when you're in a ghost town, you just can't pass up a good ghost shot!

i am so impressed that sara was able to stay so still through this exposure! she is a pro model, for sure.

autumn - fine art photography

this was hanging in the spori building of the brigham young university - idaho campus last week!

this photograph is called high dynamic range (hdr). to create it, i set my camera up on a tripod and took three different exposures - the firs underexposed, the second overexposed, and the third as a normal exposure. i then ran it through a program called photomatix that combines the three images into one. it takes the best qualities from each exposure to create the best overall image. needless to say, i think it's pretty cool and i want this program from christmas!

campbells - family photographer

it finally happened! i am posting this adorable family's pictures! honestly, there were so many good ones that it was hard not to just put the whole session up! this is my favorite photo shoot i have ever done, and i have done a lot of shoots. i love that i was able to capture each of their personalities and the relationship that they have. the whole experience was so good for me and really got me excited to do more families! pretty sure families are my new favorite session to do. enjoy this cute, little, photogenic family!

idaho - fine art photographer

life is crazy busy these days, so i am totally lacking in motivation when it comes to this blog, sorry. the ironic thing is that i actually have about three times as much to post as i usually do (part of the reason for my being crazy busy) but i just don't want to! i need to get out of this weird funk that i'm in. until that time comes, this is a cool panorama that i shot about a month ago and have been meaning to get on here. slowly, but surely, it will all get done!

i love the big sky and how vibrant the colors are! This is 98% how it came out of the camera.

beautiful!

cinderella

just for fun....

"cinderella is proof that a pair of shoes can change your life."

what girl doesn't love that?

i actually have a ton of photos to put up here, but i'm too lazy / life is too busy to get them up. one day it will happen....

inspired - fine art photographer

remember this post? well, i liked it so much that it inspired a whole color study! i have never enjoyed doing these in the past, but i was so excited for this one. in fact, i think it will be an ongoing study. i originally started with yellow and grey, but i decided to simplify to just yellow. i absolutely love the yellow and grey though!

this is an overlay of two different photographs. no adjustments done (other than the overlay, of course)

this is the door to my mom's laundry room when she was in college. i bet she never dreamed that her future daughter would one day be photographing it! this is my favorite from the study.

give me some feedback on this - especially if you've never commented before! i want to know who you are - especially if i don't know you personally! give it a try. it will be liberating  :)

hike - fine art photographer

last month i took a hike up around kelly canyon. the hike ended up being straight up the mountain. it was  ridiculously steep! the good news is that i was able to get some amazing photography! i was constantly stopping (to relieve my burning lungs) to capture the beautiful scene before me. i have been so excited to get these on this blog! i hope you enjoy these photographs as much as i do.
